COVID-19 – An Update for our Church Family & Friends,
First, I want to remind us of Jesus’ words, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you” John 14:27.
This has been an interesting stretch of time for all of us and directives as to how to protect Canadians is changing every day. One thing about odd times like this is God always has a way to speak into our lives and use these situations as ways of pointing others to Christ. May you be blessed and a blessing to others in this season.
Our Church Board made the decision this evening to shut down our church services and programs for at least three weeks. We will continue to monitor progress from there.
This, however, does not mean we are not ministering. Our Board members each have a list of people to check in on to make sure all are taken care of and prayed over. We will also be doing a Sunday sermon (with a playlist of songs selected by our worship folks) over on our YouTube channel (link available under the Media tab). We will also provide an online devotion for our youth group. Bible Study groups may use RightNow Media (link available under the Media tab) or other means to continue to study.
The church will be open Tuesday to Friday from 9:00-11:00 am if you’d like to pray alone in the sanctuary. I will also be available by appointment (at 306-897-0038) if you would like to chat/pray with me.
As other things arise, we will notify you all as much as possible. Please also check for updates via our Facebook page. Regarding giving, a copy of the online giving form can be found on Facebook or under the Giving tab. If you have questions regarding giving, please feel free to call Stan Runne (at 306-842-3581) or mail your cheque to Calvary Baptist Community Church 1619 1st Ave NE, Weyburn, SK S4H 3E7.
Praying over you all. Even while social distancing, we are still the Body of Christ together.
